Center Clears ₹1.64 Lakh Crore Road Infrastructure Plan for Bihar

Bihar is set for a massive infrastructure overhaul after winning approval for 32 new road projects worth Rs 1.64 lakh crore for 2026–27. Spanning 2,424 km, the comprehensive plan—sanctioned under the leadership of Union Road Transport Secretary Umashankar—will bring modern four-lane corridors, bypasses, and rail overbridges to the state. With NHAI overseeing 14 major stretches and the state handling 18 projects like the Darbhanga-Jaynagar highway and NH-333A upgrades, smoother and faster travel across Bihar is well on the horizon.
